2008 Recap – Corrections

First, I somehow managed to skip over the second part of my knitting goal – End the year with less stash yarn than I had to start with. Lots of numbers here which only mean something to me.

Not only did I accomplish this goal, but I sort feel the need to brag. At the end of 2007, I had a whopping 13,998 yards of yarn. At the end of 2008, that total was only 1212 yards (not thanks to 880 yards my mom got me for Christmas – more about that later). After a purge of, well, crap yarn today, my end of 08 total comes to 8568 yards which, to me, is my real stash number. How much did I knit up in 08? 6011 yards. Not bad for a slow knitter!

Of course, I got, oh, 1150 yards this last week but 350 is Koigu and the rest is beautifully died wool from a family farm in Vermont. You cannot blame me for either of those purchases. Today’s stash count?9718 yards.

In summary: wanted to have less than 13,998 yards – ended year with only 8568 yards. Already bought 1150 yards in the mere 6 days of 2009.

Second: I actually finished 19 projects in 2008. Crossed off number nineteen on the drive up to Baltimore for New Year’s. I really, really wanted to get to 20 in 2008 for the sake of having nice, round numbers but my fingers just aren’t that fast.
